Baseball

img_6802 img_6819-2 Not everyone loves baseball these day. However, I still love it. It’s by far the best sport to watch. So much going on, everyone working together and there is nothing more exciting than the bottom of the 9th inning when…you get the picture. True, there are some boring games. There are also some idiots that occasionally try their hand at coaching… generally so their boy can get a little preferential treatment. I really don’t even mind that so much if the coach enjoys celebrating in the success of the bottom 6 kids on his roster. When a coach really cares about his kids its a beautiful thing to watch. I took these pictures of Eric Mikkelson, age 9, playing September baseball in 2016. He’s playing 3rd base. He looks great buts its a little boring at 3rd in the Minor League. img_6815He pitched that last inning and he loves it. He’s always encouraging the coach to put him in. The 2nd picture he “fires” himself up.  The 3rd picture he throws the pitch. img_6825The 4th picture he celebrates the strike out. He gave up one hit, struck out two and threw the last runner out at first from his knees. Life for grandpa doesn’t get much better than this.
